2101197412Your unique healing path to creating lasting change.

Facing obstacles that keep you from the life you desire makes it difficult to know how to create change.

We all have a story, and the pain we have experienced or are currently facing can be exhausting and excruciating.

At times, our story takes us to places we never dreamed we would find ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Just like you…

I love working with women, just like you, who face the unexpected and painful things life throws their way.

Together, we will look at the emotional, relational, spiritual, and physical (illness, deficiencies, hormones) root causes of your struggles and put the pieces back together in a way that facilitates change and allows them to live vibrant and healthy lives.

Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, grief, spiritual issues, painful life events/change, trauma, or chronic illness, using proven therapeutic tools, I can help you sort through your concerns and show you how to create a path of healing, too!

389634895It can be overwhelming to tell your story.

That’s true whether you’ve been in therapy before or this is your first time seeking counseling.

Sometimes, there’s so much to tell that it can feel like your head is spinning. Plus, it can be hard to know where to start.

Telling your story can be hard!

Taking that brave step will allow you to give voice to your pain and find the tools and answers that give relief.

Together, we will look at your struggles and formulate the path forward. You are not in this alone, and I look forward to hearing your story.

Here’s what therapy’s all about…

There’s no “one size fits all” session because therapy is about your unique needs and circumstances. But here’s what you can expect:

You’ll be safe…

During your appointments, you will have a welcoming, reliable, nonjudgmental space to share freely what prompted you to come for counseling.

You’ll be seen…

A place that allows you to be seen, understood, and accepted is key to healing. You are not alone.

You’ll be supported…

We’ll discuss how to keep you moving toward your goals in each session. I’ll be there with you every step of the way!

I’m at your service!

I can’t wait to meet and walk with you on your journey to live a vibrant and healthy life.

As both a Therapist and a Registered Dietitian, I have come to see that there is a powerful connection between the mind and body, and they synergistically work together to heal and create change. We are truly healthiest when every part of our being… body, soul, and spirit… is being nurtured.

This is why every client who comes for therapy, I also offer the opportunity to consider how nutrition can support their mental, physical, and emotional health. It is not a requirement of therapy, but I have found that it can be a powerful aspect of healing and caring for the whole person.

If you are interested in learning more about the opportunity to add this service to your therapy, all you have to do is give me a call. We’ll talk about your concerns and how I can help. I’ll then give you an opportunity to schedule your first therapy appointment, a nutrition counseling session, or an appointment that combines both.

About Me

Rhonda 445When I began my healing journey…

I was working as a Registered Dietitian (RD) in Washington, DC, helping hospital patients learn to better care for their bodies.

As I got into my career, I realized that health isn’t just a physical journey; it’s an emotional and spiritual one as well.

I wanted to help others improve their health in these areas, too.

Meanwhile…

Even though my career and life were going well, there were times I felt the anxiety and turmoil of past experiences come up.

I wanted to be free of it, so I started therapy. Therapy gave me a space to explore my story, pain, and circumstances – to find the answers and healing I wanted but found elusive.

Therapy resulted in powerful shifts in my life. I knew I wanted to help others experience the same.

So, I became a therapist (and I love it!).

My dream came to fruition when I got my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University.

After graduation, I started working at Meier Clinic in Fairfax, Virginia. I saw clients in the inpatient, day treatment, and outpatient settings as a social worker and dietitian, incorporating both approaches to improve my clients’ mental and physical health.

I love being a therapist! I enjoy watching the light come on in people’s eyes and seeing them make new connections, find new hope, create change, and blaze a new path forward. It is my passion, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
